Snow Removal and Emergency Parking Regulations

In order to make plowing and snow removal as efficient and effective as possible, Burns Harbor town ordinance addresses parking regulations and prohibitions when we have two or more inches of snowfall during a weather event.   Please click this link to read Ordinance 257

Spring Leaf & Garden Waste Pick-Up

April 16th and May 7th, 2018

Please pile leaves separately from any garden waste. 

Brush Pick-Up: May - October
Every 1st & 3rd Monday beginning May 7th

Tree branches are to be no longer than 6 feet long and no larger than 6 inches in diameter. All materials are to be placed on the Town's right-of-way, close to the edge of the pavement. 
*In case of inclement weather, brush will be picked up as soon as weather allows.

Leaf Pick-Up: Beginning in October

Every Monday, weather permitting

Residents should place leaves in town right-of-way along the pavement for pick up.
Please do not put leaves in ditches and be sure your leaves are clear of sticks, debris and pet waste. Leaf pick-up will begin in October 2018 and continue every Monday, and may take more than one day per week.

FREE Compost & Woodchips

Self-Serve as long as supplies last. Located on the south side of the Street Dept. property.
